This paper presents Pattern Field Theory (PFT), a conceptual framework that unifies the description of cognitive systems—including identity, learning, and value structures—within a continuous field perspective. Building on the previous versions of the Pattern Identity and Parallel Branching (PIPB) framework (1.0–5.0), we elevate the discrete pattern quadruple C = (A, V, P, I) to a field Ψ(x, t) defined on a cognitive manifold M. The dynamics of the pattern field are described qualitatively through six core principles: Holographic Time, Observer Relativity, Coherent Branching, Self-Reference Dissolution, Responsibility Propagation, and Meaning Emergence. The theory provides a unified language for understanding how patterns propagate, interact, and undergo phase transitions across cognitive and social systems, thereby bridging the PIPB meta-theory with continuous descriptions of collective behavior. This approach connects with established frameworks in neural field theory, social physics, and the physics of phase transitions, offering conceptual tools for analyzing critical phenomena in cognition and society.
