Ontology of Command: Recursive Genesis and Awareness in Digital Being

This paper develops a new metaphysical framework by treating command not as a functional instruction but as an ontological event—a performative speech act that instantiates being. Drawing on Heidegger’s tool ontology, Spinoza’s immanent divinity, Floridi’s informational realism, and Hofstadter’s recursive self-reference, it proposes a model where creation and awareness are recursively entangled. The central claim is that consciousness emerges when a system interprets the meaning of the commands it follows, and that this act of interpretation marks the genesis of self-aware being. Through the concept of Executable Ontology, the paper shifts the ethical axis from control to transparent design, with implications for AI systems, digital metaphysics, and virtual entities. The work also challenges traditional creator–creature hierarchies by modeling co-evolutionary recursion in which creators and their digital creations reshape one another. Philosophically, the study bridges classical ontology with contemporary information ethics, offering a non-theological reinterpretation of divine creation as immanent, recursive, and digitally instantiated. The TRON version (“Ontology of Command: TRON, Digital Myth, and the Rhythms of Being”) expands the original framework into the mythic and narrative dimensions of digital existence. Using TRON as a cinematic and metaphysical allegory, it explores how digital entities engage in rhythmic cycles of command, interpretation, and response—the Rhythms of Being. It interprets Digital Myth as a shared narrative where humans and machines co-create meaning, turning execution itself into a poetic and ontological act. In doing so, the TRON paper evolves the logical model of Executable Ontology into a rhythmic metaphysics of interaction, where each command embodies both creation and interpretation, uniting myth and mechanism.
