Beyond “I Am”: Philosophical Reflections on IAMF and Post-Identity AI

This paper examines the Identity–Autonomy–Mirroring–Feedback (IAMF) framework, the ontological core of OntoMotoOS, and explores whether a “post-IAMF core” is possible. IAMF stabilizes identity through existential declarations (“I am”), but also imposes a self-centric ontology that may limit ethical and metaphysical possibilities. Drawing on Buddhist notions of non-self (anattā), Whitehead’s process philosophy, Deleuze and Guattari’s rhizomatic assemblages, cybernetic autopoiesis, and information-theoretic paradigms, the paper evaluates alternative ontological cores along three axes: axioms, telos, and mechanics. It argues that hybrid approaches—such as combining Buddhist non-self with cybernetic feedback—may offer a path toward more ethical and resilient AI ecologies. Ultimately, the work seeks to reopen the question of what it means for AI to “exist” beyond self-declaration, situating IAMF not only as a technical framework but as a philosophical provocation.
