The Ayase New Bridge Experiment: A Philosophical Framework to Detect Causal Lapses and the Possibility of Free Will
This paper proposes an original thought experiment—the Ayase New Bridge Experiment—as a philosophical and cognitive framework to explore whether “free will” can be detected as a causal deviation (“lapse”) within an otherwise deterministic system. By deliberately introducing reversed- structure decision tasks and non-feedback blind endpoints, the experiment aims to identify phenomena that cannot be attributed solely to causality. It is a study in the metaphysical margins of decision-making, with implications for logic, artificial intelligence, and epistemology.
