Universitas Islam Negeri Syekh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary Padangsidimpuan Description This study aims to implement and analyze the application of gamification concepts in e-learning for teaching 3D animation to 12th-grade science students (XII MIPA) at SMA Negeri 1 Sinunukan, Mandailing Natal Regency, North Sumatra, Indonesia, during the odd semester of the 2025/2026 academic year (July–December 2025). Using a Research and Development (R&D) approach based on Sugiyono’s 10-step model, the study developed a gamified e-learning system integrating Mechanics-Dynamics-Aesthetics (MDA) framework. The system includes points, levels, badges, leaderboards, challenges, and onboarding. Results show that the gamified e-learning system significantly improved student motivation, engagement, and understanding of 3D animation concepts, from modeling to rendering. Functional testing confirmed the system’s reliability, and student feedback indicated positive user experience. The study concludes that gamification is an effective strategy for enhancing digital learning in resource-limited regions.
