本調査は，幼稚園児・保育園児をもつ家庭での子育ての実態，および，しつけや教育に関する保護者の意識をとらえることを目的として実施された。ベネッセでは過去（1997年と2003年）にも同じ目的で調査を実施しており，経年での比較による分析が可能となるよう配慮した上で調査設計がなされている。 本調査の特徴は，以下のようにまとめられる。 1. 時代による変化の把握 2. 幼稚園児・保育園児の学年による違いの把握 3. 地域による子育ての違いの把握 4. 子育て環境の変化にあわせた新規項目の追加 <
