2014年4月の消費増税はパチンコ店にも影響を及ぼした。増税にともない内税方式から外税方式に転換するパチンコ店も見られた。新規遊技者の参加が見込みにくい中で，コスト削減を推し進め収益を確保するパチンコ店も見られており，業界最大手のマルハンは過去最高益を記録した。しかし，2014年9月にパチンコ・パチスロ遊技機の型式試験業務を実施する保安通信協会の最低出玉率試験が変更になり，2015年12月以降に射幸性の高いAT機やART機が新機種として導入はできなくなることが決まった。最低出玉率試験に適合したパチスロ機が導入される際には，売上減少や稼働低迷が懸念されている。 パチンコ・パチスロ参加人
