The notion of truth as a relation between what is affirmed and what is has remained a persistent foundation of philosophical inquiry. This paper examines the minimal structure required for such a relation, understood as minimal ontological adequacy, without relying on complex epistemological theories or extensive metaphysical commitments. It argues that truth presupposes, at the very least, the existence of an independent reality, the capacity of the intellect to receive it, and the intelligibility of being. These conditions allow truth to be understood as a basic ontological relation that underlies any rigorous epistemology. Minimal ontological adequacy does not aim to resolve contemporary debates but to establish the indispensable point of departure from which they become possible.
